Auditor's report

As indicated in the auditor's report, prepared by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton s.n.c., Chartered Accountants, these financial statements accurately present, in all important aspects, the financial status of the Municipality to December 31, 2007, as well as the results of its operations for the year ending on this date, in accordance with generally recognized accounting principles for municipal accounting in Quebec.

Remuneration of Elected Officials

Section 11 of the Law respecting remuneration of elected municipal officials requires that remuneration paid to the members of the council be published. Under by-law 06-339, adopted January 8, 2007, Austin pays the mayor a salary of $8,743.36 and an expense allowance of $4,371.68. Each councillor earns the sum of $2,916.88, and is allocated $1,459.32 for expenses.
